Party near the Park

9th June 2009 by: Claire Coburn
I had the pleasure of attending the Party near the Park last night at Old Billingsgate Fish Market. The event was in aid of Land Aid, the charity of the UK Property sector, founded in 1985 by a group of property professionals inspired by Live Aid.

It is best described as a "stars in their eyes" competition for property people. The ever charismatic Mike Slade of Helical Bar was the host.

All the performances were a huge success though special mention has to go to Liz Peace of the British Property Federation for donning stockings and suspenders for her polished  rendition of "Cabaret".

It was refreshing for the commercial property world to have a night off from all the doom and gloom, let their hair down and  raise money for charity. I shall certainly be booking my ticket for next year - who knows, maybe I'll try to get on stage myself.
