What initially attracted you to Seddons?
I was very lucky to have worked at Seddons during my summer holidays whilst at University. This opportunity not only gave me an insight into whether I would be well suited to Law as a profession but also allowed me to closely observe how this particular firm functioned. I felt very comfortable at Seddons almost immediately and realised that this was due to the friendly, intelligent and caring people that work there. People are always willing to go the extra mile at Seddons, making it a wonderful working environment.
What particular aspect of your training do you enjoy?
I enjoy the freedom to manage my own caseload and the responsibility that follows. There is an expectation that one should be constantly improving ones skills such as time and case management as well as client relations. All solicitors exercise an ‘open door’ policy and are approachable at all times, which results in a better understanding of issues and consequently a stronger legal foundation.
What life as a Trainee at Seddons is like?
Life as a Trainee at Seddons is varied; along with day to day work, there are many opportunities to be involved in marketing the firm by taking part in networking events as well as being involved with in-house functions and firm projects. You are constantly encouraged to use your initiative and are entrusted with dealing directly with the clients you work for, with the comfort of knowing that there is always someone there that you can speak to for guidance.
Trainees are often included at various points throughout transactions dealt with by partners and solicitors. This allows for a more detailed knowledge of the file and exposure to the mechanics of the transaction.
