With regard to leases, the team advises landlords and tenants on such matters as repairing liabilities, disputes over service charges, unpaid rent, forfeiture and proceedings for possession. It handles renewal of business leases, applications to vary lease terms and applications by residential tenants to acquire the freehold of their property or an extended lease - particularly where applications have been made to the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal or the Lands Tribunal. The team also has expertise in handling other disputes relating to property such as where one party has failed to complete a sale and purchase contract, boundary disputes and Party Wall disputes.
