The Olympic Games will soon be on us and a number of property owners may decide to let out their premises for the duration of the event.
Seddons Partner, John Midgley, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Solicitor of the Year at the Enfranchisement and Right to Manage Awards 2012.
Seddons are delighted to have been accepted as associate members of the Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL). The function of ASTL is to protect and promote the interests of its' members and to give confidence to all of the parties who transact business with them. As the name implies the members are financial companies who provide loans and mortgages for short terms, usually no longer than one year.

The Licensing Act 2003 brought together numerous outdated licensing related regimes and created a single Act that controlled alcohol supply and sale, late night refreshment and regulated entertainment. Unfortunately, parts of the Act created new problems for those wishing to hold entertainment events.
At the recent Annual General Meeting of the Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners, Seddons Property Enfranchisement Partner John Midgley was elected to its advisory committee.
Seddons exhibited at The Showman’s Show for the first time this year. The Showman’s Show is the UK’s most comprehensive exhibition of products, services and entertainments for the outdoor and special event industry. The Show took place over two days at Newbury Show Ground, Chieveley, Berkshire. The 2011 Show featured over 300 exhibitors and attracted almost 5,000 visitors from all over the UK and further afield.
Seddons Solicitors have recently obtained a Premises Licence for a new festival on the Isle of Wight to be called WOW Fest. The festival organisers spent two years searching for a suitable festival site. The event is to be staged on the south side of the island between Shanklin Road and Whiteley Bank.

The Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (incorporating the British Automation & Robot Association, the UK Industrial Vision Association and the Polymer Machinery Manufacturers and Distributors Association) - an alliance of trade associations representing over 400 UK Machinery and robot suppliers has invited Seddons to become a "Strategic Alliance Partner". This means that we will work with PPMA and its associated organisations to ensure that its members have access to immediate and commercial legal advice.
