Seddons, the Central London law firm, shows confidence in the recovery of the property market today when it announced a merger with Mayfair property boutique PDG and a flexible working experiment for three experienced property lawyers. The moves means that its property department of twelve lawyers will expand by seven.

PDG was established five years ago with a breakaway from Gordon Dadds solicitors. Paul Pierides, a residential investment specialist, and Lili Davarzani who concentrates on residential conveyancing, join Seddons as partners. Partner David Goff and senior assistant Alan Oliver  become Seddons consultants.

Andrew Jacobs, head of property at Seddons commented “PDG specializes in advising on commercial and residential investment and development – with Mountview Estates plc as a major client. They also have a thriving residential practice serving some wealthy individuals in Mayfair. We have similar outlooks and some mutual clients. Seddons’ strong position in the Central London market as well as our contentious and private client services makes it a good fit for PDG”

In a parallel move, Seddons is experimenting with a novel flexible working arrangement by providing a base for three highly respected senior property lawyers:

Gerry Wigfield – Residential property and finance in Central and West London

Claire Coburn – Formerly of Olswang and a care home specialist

James Huxtable –  Formerly of IBB and a property finance specialist

Andrew added “The recent market conditions means that some excellent lawyers have been displaced and we are delighted that with unusual and flexible working arrangements these three highly experienced lawyers have joined the Seddons team”.
