Marvin Simons, head of the dispute resolution team at Seddons, raised a significant amount of money for two charities when he cycled 600km (around 370 miles) from Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam to Siem Reap in Cambodia at the end of November.
Marvin commented “Cycling in Vietnam and Cambodia actually felt a lot safer than in Enfield and Barnet and certainly a lot flatter although crossing the roads was a different story as the motor scooters play dodgem cars around pedestrians! The heat was a challenge with temperatures at times soaring well above 30 Celsius. However, one thing that kept me going was the inspirational people (and especially the children) on the roadside cheering us on. The people and especially those in Cambodia have lived through shocking times and even now many live in indescribable poverty. We saw some amazing sights, including our final breathtaking destination, Angkor Wat”.
He was participating in the Norwood Challenge 2007 which aims to raise funds for one of the UK’s major children and family service organisations but he also made a donation to the Cambodian Children’s Fund.
