As new employment tribunal statistics reveal a 90% increase in single claims compared to the same period last year
New figures published by the Ministry of Justice for the period October - December 2017 revealed single claims to employment tribunals had increased by 90% compared to the same period last year.
Commenting on the findings in The Times Brief, Head of Employment Helen Crossland said: “One consequence that parties will need to factor into their case strategy is the fact they will have to wait much longer for hearings to be listed and for applications — including to address unmeritorious claims — to be processed.”
