Neil Russell Quoted in the Daily Mail

Partner Neil Russell has been quoted in the Daily Mail on the Family Court Statistics

Family Partner Neil Russell has been quoted in the Daily Mail, following the recent publication of the quarterly Family Court Statistics.

Commenting on the increase of divorce procedures, Neil said "Not surprisingly the latest ONS statistics show yet another increase in the number of divorces in the period January to March 2021. Lockdown has put a huge strain on many couples for a number of reasons, not least of all too much time together, time to reflect on relationships, and life generally.

"Interestingly, mean average time from petition to decree nisi was 27 weeks, and decree absolute was 51 weeks - down 1 week and 2 weeks respectively when compared to the equivalent quarter in 2020. Whilst the median time to decree nisi and decree absolute was 17 and 31 weeks respectively. This highlights the strength of the court system becoming increasingly more efficient as a direct result of the divorce process going on line."
